Iconography is such a sacred art and all the time, one is praying and reflecting on heaven and the subject being painted. This is all the more so when using De Mairo Lapis Lazuli. For me, De Mairo Lapis Lazuli is the best and finest quality.

I have been painting with this pigment for several years now and I am very satisfied with the colour and fineness. My paintings are very detailed and this pigment is perfect for this work.

De Mairo Lapis Lazuli Pigments give a special glow that I have not been able to obtain from any other colors of fast drying oils. I love the finishing colors that De Mairo Lapis brings out in the painting.

Demairo pigments are great to work with. They blend really well with other colors. They give a distinct gemstone shimmer to the painting. I will definitely be getting more.

Highly recommended. Gorgeous Lapis Lazuli ultramarine pigment. Mixes in linseed oil quickly to a smooth buttery texture. Deep brilliant blue color, which is great for layering, glazing, and mixing with other colors.

I am happy using these pigments. I am a miniature artist. The cost is a bit high but after all, they are gemstone pigments, so they are worth the money spent. This would augment the price of my art.

It arrived promptly. The quality is great. I got the red and yellow jasper pigment. Both are beautiful gemstone pigments. It feels great using gemstone pigments in my painting. It makes the art work exclusive.

Is Your Lapis Lazuli 100% Natural and Pure?

Yes. De Mairo Lapis Lazuli Pigments are 100% genuine, natural, and pure. We do not add any dyes to our Lapis Lazuli pigments. The beautiful blue color is solely derived from the natural lazurite content in the lapis lazuli stone. We believe in providing you with the purest and most authentic pigment possible.

What is in the De Mairo Lapis Lazuli Pigments?

Our Genuine Lapis Lazuli pigments contain pure lazurite, which is the mineral responsible for the stunning blue color in Lapis Lazuli. We carefully extract and process the lazurite to create our pigment, ensuring that it is free from impurities such as pyrite and calcite, resulting in a rich Genuine Ultramarine blue pigment. There are no added dyes or toxic chemicals used in the production process.

Is Genuine Lapis Lazuli lightfast?

Yes. Our Genuine Lapis Lazuli pigments offer excellent lightfastness.

Why should we buy from you instead of crushing our own powder?

While it is possible to crush lapis yourself and turn it into powder, the colour will not be as rich. It is important to remember that Lapis contains many impurities such as pyrite and calcite which will impact the colour of the pigment. In our pigment, we specifically extract the lazurite, which is responsible for the blue colour.

Where are the lapis pigments made?

Our lapis lazuli pigments are proudly made in Canada. We prioritize quality, purity, and environmentally responsible practices in our production process.

How do you use the pigments?

They can be used in a variety of artistic and creative applications. Simply mix the pigment with a suitable binder, such as oil, acrylic, or watercolor medium, to create vibrant blue paint. The pigments blend smoothly and offer excellent color saturation, making them ideal for painting, drawing, and other artistic endeavors.

Are there any dyes added?

No, we do not add any dyes to our lapis lazuli pigments. The beautiful blue color is solely derived from the natural lazurite content in the lapis lazuli stone. We believe in providing you with the purest and most authentic pigment possible.
