Kids Summer Dream Camp – Cursive, Gemstone Paint-Making & Watercolour (2 Weeks)

Two weeks. Three skills. One unforgettable summer.

This summer, De Mairo is joining with Cold Press Art & Co to offer a deep-dive camp for young learners — cursive handwriting in week one, and hands-on gemstone paint-making and watercolour painting in week two, using the same natural mineral pigments we grind by hand in our own studio.

Week 1 — Cursive Handwriting

• Day 1: Understanding the basic strokes
• Day 2: Small letter formation
• Day 3: Capital letters formation
• Day 4: Sentence formation & numbers
• Day 5: Writing a poem in cursive

Week 2 — Gemstone Paint-Making & Watercolour

• Day 6: Make your own paints with 100% natural gemstone pigments
• Day 7: Learn the basics of colour mixing
• Day 8: New techniques to create texture
• Day 9: Create compositions with wet and dry processes
• Day 10: Create a collage art piece to take home

• Ages: 7–13
• Time: 10:30 am – 12:00 pm (90 minutes), weekdays only
• Group Size: Max 10 children per session
• Refreshments: Not included — children are welcome to bring their own snacks
• Fee: $600 for the full two-week session

Your Instructor

Amrita is an artist and creative educator with over 8 years of experience specializing in calligraphy, watercolour, acrylics, and mixed media. Her artistic journey began with a deep fascination for lettering, exploring the beauty of form, flow, and storytelling through handcrafted calligraphy. Over the years, she has expanded her practice into painting and visual arts, conducting workshops and guiding students to discover their own creative voice.

Her inspiration comes from travel, observation, and the stories hidden in everyday surroundings. With the curiosity of a traveller, she captures the character of places through cityscapes, landscapes, and expressive compositions. Having recently moved to Canada, Amrita continues to explore new materials, techniques, and artistic perspectives while sharing her passion through teaching and immersive art experiences.
