Ultramarine Gouache
The deepest, most saturated blue — the grade Renaissance masters reserved for the robe of the Madonna.
UGS:
Six colours, ground from genuine gemstones in our own studio. The first set in a collection built from the earth itself.
Opaque from the tube. Add water or gum arabic and the same colour breathes into a translucent wash.
Three blues from a single lapis lazuli stone, a green from malachite, and two earths from jasper. Nothing is dyed or imitated.
The deepest, most saturated blue — the grade Renaissance masters reserved for the robe of the Madonna.
A lighter, luminous sky-blue from the same stone — softer in tone, brilliant in light.
The darkest grade of lapis — a smoky, midnight blue with quiet depth.
A living green ground from true malachite — cool and banded, the green of old icon panels.
An earthen brick-red from genuine red jasper — warm, grounding and quietly powerful.
A soft ochre-gold from yellow jasper — warm sunlight held in pigment.
Every colour is ground from real semi-precious stone in our own studio — never dyed, never imitated.
The only binder is gum arabic. Pure pigment, pure medium, and nothing else.
Genuine mineral pigments hold their brilliance for generations and resist fading.
Naturally opaque from the tube. Add water or a little gum arabic for a translucent wash.
Milled fine and bound with care so the colour lays down clean — never gritty, never muddy.
Safe to work with — natural ground stone and gum arabic, with no fillers or synthetics.
The same stones that lit the great paintings of the Renaissance, ground in small batches by hand — now offered as a set you can paint with today.

Gemstone gouache is an opaque, water-based paint made by grinding genuine semi-precious stones — lapis lazuli, malachite and jasper — into fine pigment and binding it in gum arabic. Palette di Pietra is made this way, by hand, in our own studio.
Yes. Every colour in the set is genuine and non-toxic. The pigment is natural ground gemstone and the only binder is gum arabic.
It is naturally opaque, with strong covering power. Because it is bound only in gum arabic, you stay in control — add water or a little extra gum arabic to thin it into a luminous, translucent wash.
Excellent. Genuine gemstone pigments are exceptionally lightfast and resist fading, which is why works painted centuries ago with these same minerals still glow today.
No. The pigment is real ground stone, but it is milled fine and bound carefully so it lays down smooth — never gritty and never muddy.
